Prayer is a worldwide matter, and everywhere people pray. It can be seen in pilgrimages around the world, in Mecca for Muslims, in Lourdes for Catholics, at the Wailing Wall for Jews... Prayer is the commonality of all of these pilgrims. They withdraw to a given place to pray and invoke God, whatever name they give Him, and to present to Him their requests, their demands, their supplications, in short, to express their desires. We can therefore say without deceiving ourselves that prayer is the most precious thing to man.
