BE WISE MY SON...

Psalms 2,6-8:

Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, You are My Son, today I have begotten You. Ask of Me and I will give you the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession.

Here's a text that inspires many to set out to conquer the nations through the preaching of the Gospel. 

Unfortunately, it is often taken in its original literal sense, so that many today see it as a promise of abundant offerings among the nations. The tragedy would be to stop here, for there is something else to understand with this text!

The Anointed One who has an appointment with the nations doesn't go to them; they come to him.

Isaiah 2,2-4a:

And it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established upon the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. Peoples will flock to it and say, "Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, that He may teach us His ways, and that we may walk in His paths; for out of Zion will go forth the law, and from Jerusalem the word of the Lord. He shall judge between the nations, and rebuke many people.

It speaks of a promise of disciples in the midst of the nations, who will turn to the Son to whom the promise was made.

The nations will come because of your light, because of your teaching.

Isaiah 60,2-4:

For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth and deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Lift up your eyes all around, and see: They all gather together, they come to you; your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be nursed at your side.

In the Tanakh (the Jewish Bible), Joseph and Daniel triumphed among the nations because of their wisdom, so much so that they became the leaders of the wise of their respective nations. And it was through his wisdom that Solomon helped the Queen of Sheba.

Behind the famous "Go and make disciples of all nations", we forget that this is an order given to men who have become "master-teachers".

Have you become a "master-teacher"?

Hebrews 5,12:

You, indeed, who long ago should have been teachers, still need to be taught the elementary principles of God's oracles; you have come to need milk and not solid food.

When Paul and Barnabas arrived in Lystra, they were named after the gods of that nation - Jupiter for Barnabas and Mercury for Paul. We're supposed to become "master-teachers of the nations", because that's what "gods of the nations" really means.

What more do we bring to the nations we visit?

How does our wisdom answer the questions of the wise men of these nations?

What more or what new thing do we bring that has not been produced by the Church of Rome over the last 2 millennia?

In your opinion, is Rome's dominion in need of renewal?

Does our wisdom break new ground compared to Rome's?

Is it not the same system that persists through us in the midst of the nations?

According to the literal meaning, it was by their wisdom that Joseph and Daniel saved the nations to which they had gone into captivity!

How does ours save our nations? In the eyes of the wise men of those nations, would we be considered wise like Solomon, wiser than the wisdom of Egypt and the sons of the East?

In the eyes of the sages of Heliopolis and Denderah in Egypt, would we be called wise like Joseph in the Torah?

In the eyes of the sages of Nippur, Sumer and Bab-Ilii, would we be called wise like Daniel in the Tanakh?

In the eyes of the wise Hindus, the sages of Katiopia and the Ne-Kongo, and the sages of Timbuktu and Gao, would we also be called wise?

In the eyes of the sages of millennial China and imperial Japan, would we still be called wise?

In the eyes of the wise men of all centuries gathered in plenary assembly, what light WILL CHRIST IN US PRODUCE?

I'm not talking here about the conclusions of the Councils of Rome, but about the light produced by the unveiling of the treasures of science and wisdom hidden in CHRIST IN US!

Before thinking about the money and goods that nations possess, let's first think about the Wisdom we must bring to these nations so that they may live!

If we save them, they will share all their possessions with the one who teaches them, for such is righteousness!

The Father teaches the son, the setting sun passes the baton to the rising sun!

The Father cries out: This is my son, in whom I am well pleased (whom I have taught), listen to him!!!

Let's take the time we need in the house of study for our light to shine, for our sun to rise, and the rest will be beyond our comprehension.

For the sake of the nations who are to come to you, prepare yourself, study, and be ready for your meeting with them! They have a right to the husband you are, to give his life spent in study for them!

Let's pursue true knowledge, and the money will follow!
