My thoughts are for Abraham's descendants:
Genesis 13,15:
For all the land which you see, I give to you and your descendants forever.
Genesis 23,14-18:
And Ephron answered Abraham, saying to him, “My lord, listen to me; the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver. What is that between you and me? So bury your dead.” And Abraham listened to Ephron; and Abraham weighed out the silver for Ephron which he had named in the hearing of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, currency of the merchants. So the field of Ephron which was in Machpelah, which was before Mamre, the field and the cave which was in it, and all the trees that were in the field, which were within all the surrounding borders, were deeded to Abraham as a possession in the presence of the sons of Heth, before all who went in at the gate of his city.
We can say that, by all appearances, Abraham did not receive the fulfillment of his promise, since he had to buy a piece of land to bury his wife Sarah. Imagine yourself with a promise as enormous as his, and now imagine that you lacked a place to bury someone so close to you that you had to buy the plot of land to honour your dead. What will you think of your promise? And more importantly, what will you think of the One who made the promise?
His job was to weigh the 400 shekels of silver...
Israel's tradition teaches that the number 400 refers to the negative forces that oppose the divine work. By his perseverance, Abraham was to overcome the opposition of these negative forces and thus redeem the land of Canaan from their hands (the reason for the 400 shekels of silver, not gold!).
He accomplished his task in such a way as to secure for his posterity the fulfillment of his promise. He was a PARTNER with God in assuring his posterity the fulfillment of his promise. When a promise is made to you, seize it firmly! Persevere with it, partner with the One who made you the promise, for He is Faithful. You are in fact redeeming the domain of your promise from the hands of the negative forces that hold it back to this day.
Do as Abraham did! Weigh the 400 shekels of silver and make sure nothing is missing!
And guarantee that your descendants, both physical and spiritual, will enjoy the fulfillment of your promise. For light must always be brought out of the midst of darkness, ALWAYS!!!!
This is the symbol found here with the 4 lepers who brought a hundredfold, the abundance back to Samaria after Elisha's prophecy!!!! This abundance prophesied by Elisha was in the camp, or under the thumb, of the negative forces towards his people (4X100= 400).
He who made the promise is faithful!
It's up to us to persevere until the promise is fulfilled!
I wish you to enjoy your promise in Christ and I also wish you to become an abundant fountain for generations to come!!!!
To that end, never hesitate to weigh the 400 shekels of silver!!!!
Happy meditating!!!
